Feature Flags
Feature flags are the entitlements that turn advanced capabilities on or off per company. They let a plant adopt heavier functionality only when it's ready, without affecting anyone else.
How flags work
- Flags are set per company and apply to everyone in that account.
- Defaults are conservative — a new or untouched account runs in the simple mode, so existing setups are never disrupted.
- A change takes effect once your session refreshes; Raya renews it for you when you save, so the new capabilities appear right away.
Manufacturing Mode — the master switch
The clearest example lives at Settings → Manufacturing Mode, which chooses how the Operations module behaves:

|---|---|
| Standard | A simple flow: allocate → one work order → quality → pack → dispatch. |
| Advanced | Multi‑stage work orders, capacity planning, tooling, job cards and machine logs. |
Switching to Advanced is the master switch. It unlocks a set of opt‑in sub‑capabilities, so you enable only what your plant uses:

| Material Planning (MRP) | Net requirements, shortage lists and auto purchase requisitions. |
| Resources | Work‑centre, line and cell masters used for planning. |
| Capacity scheduling | Plan against real work‑centre availability (requires Resources). |
| Tooling & service tracking | Tool‑life tracking and a send‑out/return service workflow (requires Resources). |
| Job cards & machine logs | Per‑operation pass/fail gates and structured run capture. |
| Document / drawing approvals | Gate work‑order release on internal and external sign‑off. |
| Promise date (ATP/CTP) | Suggest a realistic completion date on quotes and orders. |
| Subcontracting | Job‑work challans with issue‑vs‑receive reconciliation. |
| Quality inspections & NCR | Inspection plans, AQL sampling and non‑conformance tracking. |
:::note Dependencies Some capabilities depend on others — enabling Capacity scheduling or Tooling turns on Resources automatically, and turning Advanced off switches every sub‑capability off with it. :::
Module visibility
Separately, admins can show or hide whole modules the company doesn't use (for example Operations, Finance or Marketing). Hiding a module removes its tab from the module bar and its tiles from the dashboard.
